Of Ice and Tears investigates through printed matters, the potential of poetic re-narration strategies to stimulate deeper levels of ecological awareness in relation to the iconic French glacier.

As a reflective piece, these screen-printed photographs open a space to see beyond the grand spectacle and recognise fragility in the midst of a climate breakdown.

Unfolding in a series of six, flowing on Central St Martins’ concrete staircase, this activation in situ recalls the 450 metal steps necessary to experience the glacier in real life. Implicitly, it becomes a serendipitous metaphor for elevation or descent.
